Happy Tottenham Hotspur Women match fixture release day! The WSL revealed its match schedule this morning, and Spurs Women will open the 2026-27 WSL season with a home match vs. West Ham on Sunday, September 6.
This is shaping up to be a (hopefully) important year for Spurs Women. They’ve moved on from Beth England and have worked hard this summer to revamp the squad and improve it, hoping for a push
for a top four finish and European qualification. A tall order, to be sure, and nothing is guaranteed especially with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United all still proven to be superior clubs in the league. But what’s a new season without hope, huh?
West Ham at home is a fun fixture, for sure. Spurs split the ties last season, winning at home and losing away in Dagenham, then going on to steal West Ham’s second leading scorer, Shekiera Martinez, who had ten goals for the Hammers last season. Spurs should be better than West Ham, but they’ve at times had Tottenham’s number.
Looking at the schedule, October looks brutal with a home match against high-spending and potential gate-crashers London City before a trip away to Chelsea and the home North London Derby. Also circle the December 15 home match vs. Charlton Athletic, who are managed by legendary long-time former manager Karen Hills, who took Spurs from an amateur club to WSL promotion.
Regardless, you play every team in the league twice so the schedule is always, at least in that sense, balanced. And there are precious few easy wins in the WSL, even when you’re not playing one of the Big Four.
Spurs have made six additions to the squad so far this summer, and letting go a number of familiar faces including the aforementioned England, her strike partner Martha Thomas, fan-favorite Kit Graham, and Aussie defender Charli Grant.
