We’ve made it through Selection Sunday, waited through a couple days where only the play-in games were happening, and have finally made it to the two most exciting days in sports. Today and tomorrow mark the First Round of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Thursday and Friday of the tournament always feature wall-to-wall basketball from basically noon to midnight, featuring just about every type of game and team you can imagine.
The North Carolina men will feature in today’s action as
they take on VCU. This is a #6 vs. #11 game, and matchups on that seed line are where you really start to see teams somewhat evenly matched. The Tar Heels go into this game as a slight betting favorite, but they’re — of course — going in without Caleb Wilson. Meanwhile, the Rams come in fresh off of a 27-7 season and a title in the A10 conference tournament. There’s not really any result in this game that would surprise me.
There will be plenty of basketball to watch beforehand, but here’s where you’ll be able to catch the UNC game in particular tonight.
