Ahead of their second major recruiting weekend of the summer, the Buckeyes are looking to keep the momentum rolling with more successful visits. The biggest goal however though is to turn visits into commitments, and that will happen hopefully sooner rather than later.
Until then, the staff will further continue their efforts. Though it’s not a formal commitment, it could be a step in the right direction, as Wednesday saw more RPM picks and Crystal Ball predictions for Ohio State to land another playmaker.
Florida defensive back Jaden Carey the topic of discussion here, the Buckeyes were the pick two separate times on Wednesday, as both Alex Gleitman and Zach Blostein gave Ohio State the nod.
A 6-foot, 165 pound cornerback out of St. Thomas Aquinas, Carey is the No. 377 player nationally and 39th best corner in the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite. An impressive 40 offers to his name and from the best programs in college football, landing Carey would be a major addition for Tim Walton.
Playing for a prep powerhouse, Jaden’s abilities are proven as he faces top tier opponents each week which only further boosts his stock. A player the Buckeyes are trying to land, they’ve put themselves in a solid position as it stands right now and ahead of his visit coming up this Friday, it could be a booming sort of weekend for Ohio State.
Buckeyes offer IMG Academy OT
Offers continuing to go out this week, the Buckeyes are now officially in the mix for IMG Academy prospect Nation Farmer. Taking to his social media on Tuesday to share some of the latest happenings in his recruitment, the 6-foot-5, 300 pound offensive tackle added Ohio State to his list of 20-plus others to notice his talents as well as his incredible size for just a high school sophomore.
The No. 42 player nationally and the sixth best offensive tackle in the 2028 class per the 247Sports Composite grades, Farmer checks every box any offensive line coach would covet. From his frame and length to the film, Nation is going to be one of the more highly sought after targets in the upcoming cycle and rightfully so.
Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, and plenty more vying for his pledge, the Buckeyes enter the fold ready for a battle.
Getting him on campus the next component to a serious recruitment, stay tuned to see if a summer trip gets on the books. If so, consider Ohio State a real player for his services.
