The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers released the first update of their injury reports this week after Thursday’s practice in advance of their Sunday afternoon matchup at US Bank stadium. Here they are.

Injury Report Terms and Glossary
- FP = Full participant in practice.
- LP = Limited participant in practice.
- DNP = Did not participate in practice.
- NIR = Not injury related.
- PUP = Physically unable to participate list.
- IR = Injured reserve. Note: only starters on IR are listed.
- CE List = Commissioner’s exempt list.
- Player Name* = Starter.
Injury designation definitions:
Probable = the league defines a Probable injury designation as a 75% or greater chance of playing. Historically, 95% of players designated probable are active and played on game day.
Questionable = the league defines a Questionable injury designation as being ‘uncertain’
of whether the player will play or not. This replaces the former definition of having a 50% chance of playing. Historically, 70-75% of players with a Questionable injury designation were active and played on game day.
Doubtful = The league defines a Doubtful injury designation to mean the player is unlikely to participate in the game. In practical terms, teams use the designation when a player has less than a 50% chance to suit up, and active game appearances from this designation remain rare. Historically only around 6% of players with a Doubtful designation are active and played on game day.
Out = will not play. Players with this designation are not active on game day and league rules prohibit them from playing.
Notes on Injured Players
For the Packers, Micah Parsons, Luke Musgrave, and Jordan Riley are all on the PUP list and will miss the first four games of the season. Josh Jacobs is on the Commissioner’s Exempt list following an offseason incident until further notice.
The Packers also have three starting offensive linemen and two starting defensive linemen on their injury report, which isn’t ideal to start the season.
Zach Bako-Bewele (formerly Tom) is recovering from offseason knee surgery to repair a partially torn patellar tendon. He said he plans to start on Sunday.
Aaron Banks has been dealing with chronic tendinitis in his knee and has missed practice time because of it during training camp. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to go on Sunday or not, but Jager Burton, a rookie fifth-round pick, would be the likely starter at left guard if he can’t go. He continues to be limited so whether he’s able to be a full participant on Friday will be insightful into his availability on Sunday. Would not be surprised to see him listed as questionable.
Starting left tackle Jordan Morgan was a surprise addition on Wednesday as a limited participant due to a knee injury. Unclear if this is a minor issue- which seems more likely- or if it more significant. Morgan was upgraded to full participation in Thursday’s practice so he was likely working through something minor and is unlikely to have an injury designation for Sunday’s game.
Starting defensive tackles Javon Hargrave and Devonte Wyatt are both dealing with lingering injuries that aren’t likely to keep them out of Sunday’s game, but they could be limiting during the game. I suspect both players are taking it easy as they prepare for Sunday. I would not be surprised if both play on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Warren Brinson, who rotates as a backup, seems less likely to be active on Sunday. His second day of not participating in practice makes it more likely he’s not active on Sunday.
For the Vikings, no starters on their injury report and the issues with the two Thomas’ are unlikely to keep them out of Sunday’s game. Jakobe Thomas being upgraded to limited is a positive sign in that regard. Caleb Tiernan may or may not be active for the game based on his status on the depth chart as much as the ankle injury he has been dealing with for a couple weeks now.
