Ronda Rousey thinks the UFC White House card “sucks” and believes her May 16 fight against Gina Carano on Netflix will outperform the “Freedom 250” event
on Paramount+ in June.Rousey is still bitter that UFC failed to meet her price tag, which in turn sent “Rowdy” to Netflix. While the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion is positioning herself as some sort of savior, hero of the less fortunate, this feels more like a personal vendetta.
“Welcome to the revolution,” Rousey wrote on X. “It’s the FIGHTERS
vs the establishment — and we’re gonna win! May 16th only on Netflix. P.S. Hunter Campbell pissed off the wrong b*tch. I’m coming for your job motherf*cker.”
Former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier, who also serves as UFC color commentator, supports the upcoming “Rousey vs. Carano” fight card and what it represents for non-UFC athletes, but still believes the UFC White House lineup is superior from top to bottom.
“Nothing is ever going to be the UFC,” Cormier said. “It just won’t happen, but at least there it seems like it’s real. A real event on a real platform that gives these people an ability to not only make a living, but have people tune in. It’s free. It’s Netflix, one of the biggest platforms in the world. … I think what they’ve done with this Carano-Rousey card is made a real place for people to fight outside of the UFC.”
Rousey vs. Carano and Ngannou vs. Lins will have to compete with Topuria vs. Gaethje and Pereira vs. Gane.
“Honestly, competition is a good thing,” Cormier added. “It always is and always has been, and it always will be, and I love seeing guys have the ability to go out there and make some money. So, congratulations. That’s good. I’m excited. I’m actually excited. But for people comparing it to the White House card, no chance, guys. Come on. The White House card is the best card of the year, for sure. It’s better than that, let’s just be completely honest.”
The fans will have the final say when the ratings come out later this year.
