The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 34-22 to get to 3-2 on the season and back into a three-way tie for first place in the AFC North. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a terrific showing, completing 22-of-31 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns. The win featured multiple milestones for the future Hall of Fame signal-caller.
Rodgers tied the Steelers franchise record with his third consecutive game of three or more touchdowns, with Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger the only
other two to ever do it. With those touchdowns, he passed Peyton Manning for most touchdown passes in the regular season and postseason combined. His first touchdown pass on the day to Jaylen Warren gave him 580 for his career, and two touchdowns to Pat Freiermuth gives him 582m which is third all-time.
“Anytime you’re in the same sentence as Peyton [Manning], that definitely does mean a lot to me,” Rodgers told Tracy Wolfson after the game.
With the win, Rodgers now has 166 as a starter, which breaks a tie with Ben Roethlisberger for fifth all-time. With five more wins, he’ll tie Drew Brees.
