The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly meeting with free agent pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney.
Matters around the Cowboys defense have been interesting to say the least over the last couple of weeks. 13 days ago the team dealt Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. The pass rush looked okay in the opener against
the Philadelphia Eagles a week later, but more of anything is never a bad thing.
Clowney has bounced around a bit over the last few seasons. He started his career off with five straight seasons for the Houston Texans, but then played single years for both the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans. He spent two years with the Cleveland Browns after that before one-year stops with both the Baltimore Ravens and most recently the Carolina Panthers.
Clowney could help a group that at the moment is headlined by Sam Williams and Marshawn Kneeland. Veteran Dante Fowler did not have the best opener, but there is reason to hold hope there as well. It goes without saying that rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku carries excitement, but he is obviously new to the league at large.
