SYRACUSE 3, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 2 (BOX)

Matt Rudick’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth gave Syracuse the win. The Mets had trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, but a two-run home run by Christian Arroyo tied things up in the bottom of that inning. Xzavion Curry had his best start since joining the organization, and the Syracuse bullpen was particularly good. Dylan Ross shone with four strikeouts in two perfect innings to finish the game, and given his walk rate issues this season,

the fact that he didn’t walk anybody in the appearance was equally impressive.

The Rumble Ponies notched their sixth walk-off win of the season when D’Andre Smith singled to score Chris Suero in the bottom of the tenth for the victory. Binghamton pitchers gave up just one run in the top of the fifth, making Eli Serrano III’s first-inning home run just enough to get the game to extras.

Nicolas Carreno had a particularly rough go of it, but neither his lineup nor his defense did much in the way of helping him as the St. Lucie Mets lost. By the end of the sixth inning, the team trailed 9-1, meaning the final score here makes it look like the game was closer than it ever was. And Elian Peña had a very bad night at the plate.
