For the second straight week, the Detroit Lions face off against an AFC East foe. The first game didn’t go too well, with the Lions getting routed off the field in Buffalo, suffering a 41-31 loss at the hands of Josh Allen and the Bills. The loss has shaken the public faith of Detroit’s defense, which has given up 71 points through two games.
But the Lions have had 10 days to regroup, self-scout, and make adjustments prior to their Week 3 game against the New York Jets. Will that be enough to take
down a Jets team that is a fourth quarter meltdown away from starting the season 2-0?
The Lions have already made a few adjustments prior to this game. Veteran linebacker Devin White is a healthy scratch, paving the way for Malcolm Rodriguez to be a full-time starter in the linebacker room. Additionally, two new players are available and could make their 2026 debuts: rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder and third-year cornerback Ennis Rakestraw are active for the first time this season.
