It appears the end is nigh for Kentucky football offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan.
According to ESPN Radio Lexington on Twitter, Hamdan will no longer be a member of the UK coaching staff after Tuesday.
If Hamdan were to be let go, it’s unclear who the interim offensive coordinator would be for the Cats.
Our own Drew Holbrook has done several in-depth pieces (here and here) in September that detailed the struggles of Hamdan, who also had a failed OC stint for the Washington Huskies from 2018-19, highlighted
by a familiar issue he’s faced in Lexington: Failing to get the ball in the end zone after entering the red zone. His tenure in Seattle featured a narrow loss to Auburn after Washington scored just one touchdown in six red-zone trips.
While the source of this report isn’t one that typically breaks this kind of news, Hamden is 100% a dead man walking. Whether it’s this week or at the end of the season, his chances of eventually getting fired are almost guaranteed at this point.
