Significant changes continue on the women’s side as well as the men’s, similarly in the vein of not-surprising-but-still-disappointing. Tilda Trygger is second major piece from the 2026 team to hit the exit, and she is due a big payday from a power-conference program, if reports are accurate. (She supposedly had a $400k offer to leave after last season.)
Her untimely disappearance down the stretch aside, she had a good season, and notably improved her three-point shooting. She didn’t quite fit with
Khamil Pierre in the paint, or at least Wes Moore couldn’t find a suitable solution there, and maybe her game will open up in different circumstances.
NC State also lost reserve shooting guard Devyn Quigley, who had the opportunity this year to seize a significant role off the bench but couldn’t do it. The results were ultimately pretty mixed in her two years at State, at both ends of the floor. I’m guessing that she’ll end up moving to a mid-major program where she can play a lot—it only takes one good year to pick that value back up, after all.
To take stock of NC State’s roster at this point: Zoe Brooks and Destiny Lunan are returning, while there’s nothing official from Khamil Pierre at this point. I’ve not seen anything from Qadence Samuels or Maddie Cox, either. Zam Jones, Trygger, Quigley, Mallory Collier, and Lorena Awou have entered the portal.
