After a jubilant World Cup opening win, Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović is eager to welcome Germany men’s national team teammate Nathaniel Brown to his club.
Brown is one of many German stars basking in the spotlight in the wake of a 7-1 trouncing of Curaçao on Saturday. The Eintracht Frankfurt left-back has risen quickly, earning the nod from Julian Nagelsmann over veteran David Raum for Germany’s opener — and he rewarded the faith with a goal, an assist, and all-around solid performance.
The cherry on top from a Bayern perspective? The 22-year-old is on the verge of signing for the club. Per a report, Frankfurt executives were meeting with Bayern on Saturday to hammer out the final details including an expected €55M transfer fee (plus add-ons).
Brown has already established a rapport with his potential future club teammates — some of whom are featuring for Germany this summer.
“I would definitely be delighted,” Pavlović said after the match in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “That would be fantastic. He’s a great guy and player. We get along very well, and I was really happy for him that he scored today.”
It’s a good thing Bayern is getting this locked in now. Brown’s profile could skyrocket if he keeps this up all tournament long.
