The Philadelphia Eagles are hosting free agent defensive back Nazeeh Johnson on a visit at the Jefferson Health Training Complex on Monday, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Johnson, who turns 28 in July, was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with a seventh-round pick (No. 259 overall, three spots ahead of Brock Purdy as Mr. Irrelevant) in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Making eight starts in 35 career games played (including playoffs), Johnson has logged 494 total defensive snaps
(all of which came in 2024) and 286 special teams snaps. He missed the entire 2023 season due to a torn ACL and he missed most of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury.
The majority of Johnson’s experience playing defense in the NFL has come at outside cornerback. Playing college football at Marshall, he mostly split time between being a safety and slot corner. It remains to be seen how the Eagles will line Johnson up, assuming they sign him.
If the Eagles do decide to add him to the team, he figures to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster as someone who can provide depth in the secondary and also help out on special teams.
