With the momentum the Kentucky Wildcats have this season comes momentum on the recruiting trail. Kentucky isn’t just going after any recruits. They’re going after big fish.
When Kentucky beat No. 10 LSU this past Saturday, two of Kentucky’s top targets in the 2028 class in the nation’s No. 1 defensive lineman in in-state 5-star Kellan Hall and the Rivals300’s No. 2 ranked quarterback in Josiah Boyd out of California were there to see it.
Read that again. The No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 2 quarterback
were on hand to watch Kentucky take down LSU. Will Stein has coached just one half of a season, and the Cats already have this kind of momentum on the recruiting trail.
Speaking of Boyd, the Moreno Valley, California prospect will announce his decision in late November. Boyd is the No. 3-ranked player in California and the No. 31 player in the country.
“What a time Saturday night, man,” Boyd told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “Watching the game live was an incredible experience, bro! The atmosphere was something special. Being there in person and feeling that energy made the visit even better!”
Boyd spoke fervently about the atmosphere at Kroger Field and the direction the Wildcats are headed in with Will Stein.
“The hospitality man and the way the staff made us feel welcomed definitely stood out,” Boyd said. “The support system Kentucky has, not just within the program but throughout the city, was impressive. The people were great, and you could really feel the passion and pride they have for Kentucky football. The overall experience made a strong impression on me and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
“The relationships I’ve built with Sloan since day one have been incredible. Stein has been nothing short of amazing to me and my family as well. That personal connection means a lot, and it’s a big part of what stands out to me.”
Kentucky may be about to land some big fish in recruiting.
