According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Lions are road underdogs for this Week 2 battle in Buffalo, but they’ll be looking to play spoilers in the first game ever played at the Bills’ new home: Highmark Stadium.
“These guys are obviously
a really good opponent,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said at his Monday press conference. “It’s opening night, out at their place Thursday night. It’ll be electric. It’s going to be a great atmosphere. We’ll be looking forward to that, but excellent opponent. This will be a big-time game here early in the year.”
Detroit and Buffalo each won their opening game, with each offense needing to score on its final possession to secure the victory. The Bills are coming off a big road win over the Texans in Houston in which quarterback Josh Allen threw a touchdown pass with just over a minute remaining in the game. The Lions got it done in overtime in a close game over the Saints, scoring on a Jared Goff-to-Amon-Ra St. Brown touchdown, then preventing a two-point conversion to preserve the win.
