When a university dismisses a coach, a lot of the work the prior staff put into building relationships goes with them. UNC’s two star recruits, Dylan Mingo and Maximo Adams, have been question marks as UNC transitions from Coach Davis to Coach Malone.
Adams confirmed this morning that he was sticking with his commitment to UNC. Adams has talked about dreaming of playing for UNC, and he intends to fulfill that dream. Adams ranks in the top 25 nationally in the three major recruiting services, and he’s
considered a riser after his senior year performance. Adams led Sierra Canyon to a 30-1 record and a California Open Division state title, averaging 16 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Los Angeles Times named him their Basketball Player of the Year. The 6’7”, 200 pound wing was selected as a McDonald’s All American.
Analysts note his ability to play off the ball and score from all three levels. He appears comfortable guarding guarding multiple positions. Adams should be a high-end talent with great prospects for handling the transition to college ball.
