The staff stumbled horribly in Week 2. After being above .500 in Week 0 and Week 1, we dipped below that line. Pointing fingers is rude, but Andrew did manage to go an almost impressively bad 3-13. Christian was not much better at 5-11. Tom joined them in the gutter at 6-10. The Commentariat also struggled to a 7-9 record. On the good side, Import went 9-7 while Cole crushed his way to 10-6. I was a dead-center middling 8-8. The aggregate 41-55 by the staff was a pitiful 42.7 winning percentage.
It drug the season score down to 119-127 (48.4%).
The biggest misses were all of us picking Oklahoma to beat Michigan by more than 5.5 instead of losing. LSU destroying Louisiana Tech evaded all but one of us as did Charlotte staying under 47.5 at Ole Miss, Tennessee blowing out Georgia Tech, Mississippi State mollywopping Minnesota and Towson staying within 42.5 of South Carolina. Oh, and Delaware staying tight to the ‘Dores fits that bill, too. We unanimously nailed Alabama blasting Kentucky. We only had 1 miss for Georgia-WKU.
The slate shrinks with 5 SEC-SEC games. Two more teams are playing other P4 opponents. No one is on a bye. There is 1 unanimous pick (Georgia-Arkansas) and 2 more games where only one person differed from the pack. Of the remaining 9 games, 8 do have a majority selection. Only Florida-Auburn managed to split us evenly.
The Rules
- Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick.
- The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling, which is especially important with sports gambling being legal in Tennessee now.
- The lines will be taken from FanDuel, who SB Nation has partnered with this season, some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published. I may also use a backup for FBS-FCS matchups if the line is available elsewhere when I get the spreads.
