It sounds like we’re going to have the best version of Josh Jacobs that we’ve seen in weeks when he plays the Chicago Bears on Saturday. The Green Bay Packers running back has been dealing with a knee contusion and swelling problems following the contusion since Week 11, when he was injured on MetLife Stadium’s turf.
In the locker room today, Jacobs stated that the injury “limited me a lot more than I’m gonna tell.”
Jacobs missed all of Week 12’s action against the Minnesota Vikings. He played the remaining
five games of the year before taking off Week 18, another Vikings game, going into the playoffs.
Over the first nine games of the year, prior to his injury, Jacobs had played 68 percent of the offense’s total snaps. He only hit that number in any individual game one time since returning to the field, Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. Since that first Bears game, the Packers have been 0-4.
“It’s been pretty good. I haven’t really felt it at all. Even like, taking full reps and everything at practice hasn’t bothered me, so it’s been pretty good,” said Jacobs, who is completely off the Packers’ injury report this week for the first time since Week 11. Generally, Jacobs has either been a non-participant or a limited participant in practice since his knee injury.
Jacobs also added that this is the “best [he’s] felt” since going down. Hopefully, we’ll get a healthy dosage of Jacobs on Saturday, as there’s a chance of snow at an always windy Soldier Field.
