Stop me if you’ve heard this one before — the Detroit Pistons enter tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers with a signficiant injury report. The good news is a couple of those players have at least been upgraded to questionable. There is a chance we see Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson suit up tonight as the team looks to extend its winning streak to 10 games. Heck, Jalen Duren has reached probable status. What luck!
There are, of course, still plenty of players listed as out. Tobias Harris is in
danger of playing the fewest games in a season in more than a decade at the rate he’s going. Jaden Ivey is out as he continues to regain health and strength in his right knee, and Marcus Sasser remains MIA with his right hip impingement. A new addition is ‘Bobi Klintman, who is out with an ankle sprain.
The Pacers are no stranger to bad injury luck a season after going to the NBA Finals. They are 1-12 thanks largely to their best player, Tyrese Haliburton, missing with an ACL tear. But key complementary players like Obi Toppin and Aaron Nesmith are also out, and Bennedict Mathurin is questionable.
