What is the story about?

The New Orleans Saints will finally play their first home game of the 2026 season Sunday when they welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to Caesars Superdome.

The two teams first met on Nov. 7, 1971, at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, where the Saints rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to end the game in a 21-21 tie.

The Saints and Raiders have met 16 times in the regular season, with Las Vegas holding an 8-7-1 advantage in the all-time series.

The two teams last met Dec. 29, 2024, when the Raiders

defeated the Saints 25-10 in New Orleans’ final home game of the season. The Saints took a 7-3 lead in the second quarter when rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler connected with former Raiders tight end Foster Moreau on a 30-yard touchdown pass. However, Las Vegas regained the lead before halftime and shut out New Orleans in the second half to secure the victory.

New Orleans returns to the Superdome with momentum after securing its first win of the season, a 24-17 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas enters this matchup undefeated at 2-0 under first-year head coach and former Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on CBS with Chris Lewis (play-by-play), Luke Kuechly (color analyst) and Amanda Balionis (sideline)
