Sean Brady has suffered an injury and is out of his upcoming main event fight against Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Vegas 124, which is scheduled for Meta APEX on Nov. 7.
Sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday following an initial report from Laerte Viana on Twitter.
The UFC is currently searching for a replacement to face Bonfim on short notice.
It’s unclear what forced Brady out of the fight at this time, but it’s disappointing news already for a pair of welterweights seeking to reach higher
in the rankings and potentially enter title contention in the near future.
Brady (19-2) was coming off a dominant win over Joaquin Buckley in his last outing, while Bonfim (20-1) is riding a five-fight win streak including a victory over former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.
The current co-main event for UFC Vegas 124 is a strawweight showdown as Tatiana Suarez battles Virna Jandiroba.
