After 4 weeks of the collective record being above .500, Week 6 was a disaster at 15-21 overall. Tom was a miserable 1-5 while the 3 Cs (Cole, CDA, and Commentariat) went 2-4. Import and Andrew were dead even at 3-3. I was the only one ahead of the game at 4-2. These results leave the staff 2 games below .500 for the season at 203-205.
I managed to do that by being the lone person to pick Alabama and Texas A&M. Everyone except Tom saw Miami beating Florida State by more than 4.5 points, but our dear
Editor was the only one that believed in Florida staying within 6.5 points of Texas as the Gators actually won outright. Georgia thoroughly murdered Kentucky to cover the spread and leave Cole and Tom out in the cold. Oklahoma fell 2 points from covering against Kent State in their 44-0.
Even with Vanderbilt off for the week, the slate expands from 6 to 8 for Week 7. There are 6 SEC-SEC games, 1 SEC-PAC12 contest, and the dealer’s choice B1G-B1G matchup. There is 1 game unanimously picked along with 2 that have only 1 person breaking ranks. 2 more games have the slight majority which leaves 3 even splits.
The Rules
- Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick.
- The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling, which is especially important with sports gambling being legal in Tennessee now.
- The lines will be taken from FanDuel, who SB Nation has partnered with this season, some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published. I may also use a backup for FBS-FCS matchups if the line is available elsewhere when I get the spreads.
