Improbable though it seems, a win tonight would not only give the White Sox a rare road sweep of a four-game series, it would claw the club to less than 10 (9 1/2) games from fourth place. Too late to overtake Minny this season, but still, who’da thunk?
It’s an exciting lineup for the White Sox tonight, as the catching kids combo of Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel — arguably the best two hitters on the club, so huh, this makes sense — batting first and second. On the flip side, because the White Sox plan
for just enough arms to get through April every year, it’s another planned bullpen game. However, today’s call-up of Jonathan Cannon (along with lefty pen arm Tyler Gilbert, with Bryan Hudson shuffled to the IL and Bryse Wilson DFA’d for the second time this year) remedies that, if Cannon can hold; he’ll be the bulk arm after Fraser Ellard starts. Quite a bit of strategy here, manager Will Venable wants this sweep!

More good news for the White Sox: They’re facing Taj Bradley, who got crushed by the White Sox last time facing them. Colson Montgomery, batting cleanup, is wiping the drool off of his chin, as he has two homers and five ribbies in four ABs vs. the righty.
With 22 games remaining, the White Sox need to go 11-11 to escape a third straight 100-loss season. Impossible even two weeks ago, now … plausible?
