Juventus’ injury ravaged 2026-27 campaign now apparently extends to players they’ve sent out on loan who come back for a friendly during the longest in-season international break that we’ve ever had.
Sorry, but I guess you just can’t escape it.
Adin Ličina, arguably Juventus’ top young prospect who is spending the season on loan at Cremonese, fractured a bone in his wrist during Friday’s friendly against the Bianconeri at Continassa, according to multiple reports from the Italian media later in the day that
have since been confirmed by Cremonese on their official website. Thankfully, the 19-year-old Ličina was just a (very) short trip away from J Medical, where he underwent a quick surgery and things are all repaired.
Ličina will reportedly be re-evaluated in about 72 hours when a timeframe for his return will likely be confirmed.
Here is the official statement from Cremonese:
Adin Licina, following the contusion-sprain injury sustained in a friendly match at the Juventus Training Center, underwent surgery to reduce a fracture in his left wrist. The surgery, performed in agreement between Cremonese and Juventus, was performed by Dr. Pegoli at J-Medical and was a complete success.
Further evaluations will be carried out after the next 72 hours of rest.
Ličina has been superb in his early days in Serie B — his first full season in Italian football after arriving from Bayern Munich in January and subsequently splitting time between Juventus’ primavera and Next Gen squads over the subsequent months.
In his first three games with Cremonese, Ličina has scored a fantastic goal on his Serie B debut and logged an assist. Making the step up from Serie C with the Next Gen squad to Serie B has not looked to be much of an isse thus far, although now he could miss a few games due to this sudden wrist injury that has required surgery.
Cremonese returns from the international break on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Arezzo.
