The point of this is to show how close the American League Cy Young race
is going to be, but that’s not what interests us. Look down lower and you’ll see that according to this one stat, the Phillies are predicted to have their top four starting pitchers finish in the top ten of the National League Cy Young race. Cristopher Sanchez looks like he has second wrapped up while Zack Wheeler, Ranger Suarez and Jesus Luzardo might finish seventh, eighth and tenth, respectively.
That’s something that I’m not sure any of us would have predicted once the season started, but it is a testament to how well all four have pitched over the course of the season, hiccups not withstanding. They’ve truly earned it if this does happen, but it begs the question: do you see all four finishing in the top ten in the voting? It would be something if they did.
