While we’re all locked in on March Madness, the Clemson baseball Tigers are riding a three game win streak into Notre Dame, Indiana for the Tigers’ second ACC series of the year. Clemson had a successful run in Charleston, picking up two road wins over College of Charleston and the Citadel. Notre Dame comes in at 11-6 (3-3 ACC) on the year. Last week the Irish dropped 2 of 3 at Louisville. The week before they took 2 of 3 from Duke in Durham. This week the Fighting Irish were supposed to host Central
Michigan Tuesday and Wednesday night, but those games both ended up being postponed. As is the the case with northern programs during the early part of the season, Notre Dame has only played 1 home game so far, an 11-1 8 inning win over Eastern Michigan.
Catcher Mark Quatrani is Notre Dame’s offensive leader, hitting .441 with a .765 slugging percentage and 6 home runs. Bino Watters and Davis Johnson are tied for second on the team in homers with 4. Johnson has a .700 slugging percentage. Friday Night will see Notre Dame send out righty Jake Radel out to face Aiden Knaak. Radel has a 2.77 ERA with 36 strikeouts. Saturday will be lefty Caden Crowell taking on Clemson’s own lefty Michael Sharman. Crowell has a 6.10 ERA with 18 strikeouts. Sunday will be righthander Ty Uber facing Drew Titsworth. Uber has a 3.74 ERA with 17 strikeouts. Titsworth got his first start of the season in last Saturday’s 13-7 win over Georgia Tech. Titsworth went 3.0 innings giving up 3 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 2 in a no decision vs the Jackets.
Friday afternoon’s game will be streamable on ACC Network Extra on the ESPN app, and then the rest of the games will have no video, meaning you’re best option is radio, either on your local Clemson Athletics station or on the Clemson Tigers app.
