Back in late June, it was reported that Scorpio Sky’s AEW contract is set to expire “in a few months.” The man himself was asked about that story during an interview this week on Tagging In with Chris Harris
. Here’s what he was willing to say about it:“I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I’ve thought about what I’m going to do and what the future looks like, but I really try not to put too much into that. Right now, I’m focused on finishing this chapter the right way. I have a lot of stories, and matches,
and moments left to be a part of, and I’m excited to step into those moments. So, we’ll let tomorrow handle tomorrow, and I’m just gonna focus on today.”
Scorpio is currently part of a low card faction with Christopher Daniels and Top Flight named SkyFlight, which is now adding a new member with the returning Matt Sydal. Whatever stories, matches, and moments that Sky has left there will likely be featured on Collision or Ring of Honor, rather than Dynamite. Scorpio was part of the first ever AEW world tag team champions back in 2019, but that feels like an awfully long time ago given how much of an afterthought he has been in AEW over the last four years.
Do you think Tony Khan will come up with something interesting for Scorpio Sky to do as his contract expiration approaches? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
