Real Madrid have been crowned the 2025/26 UEFA Youth Leavue champions, lifting the trophy for just the second time in club history. Juvenil A, who have been heavily supported by Castilla players, gets the likes of Chelsea and PSG on their journey to victory. Exciting striker Jacobo Ortega scored for Real Madrid, before a younger Brugge side fought back. The game went to penalties, as Liberto Navascués, Daniel Yáñez,
Carlos Díez and Diego Aguado sealed the 4-2 shootout win.
As the Youth League is still in its infancy in comparison to its senior counterpart, only three titles means that Barcelona are leading the way with the most on record, – leaving a real opportunity for others to nab the top spot. Real Madrid’s historic first title came in 2019/20, under Raúl González. From that squad, ten players have gone on to play in La Liga or another top tier league, including the likes of Miguel Gutíerrez and Antonio Blanco. This years roster contains a breadth of talent in its own right, and it will be exciting to see how far these players can make it. Perhaps it’s to mask the first team’s woes, or to able to brand themselves the kings of Europe at both senior and youth level in true club style (just one title to go now) – but one thing is for sure, Real Madrid are taking the UEFA Youth League very seriously indeed.
