Liverpool recorded one of their best performances and results of a somewhat difficult season on Wednesday when they swept aside Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the Champions League, but building on that could
have some added complications due to a series of key first team injuries picked up in recent weeks.
Manager Arne Slot today at his pre-match press conference ahead of Brentford on Saturday confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong had suffered a fairly significant hamstring injury, though it’s better news for Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch, with doubtful but as yet not ruled out and unlikely to miss much time.
“Jeremie is not in a good place and he is definitely not going to play tomorrow or next week,” Slot acknowledged. “It’s a hamstring injury so that’s going to take a little while. Alex it’s not too bad, so let’s see where he is. And it’s the same for Ryan, so let’s see where he is today. Alisson it’s going to take a little bit longer.”
Alisson, like Frimpong, suffered a hamstring injury. His came against Galatasaray in the Champions League on September 30th and will see him miss around six weeks of action, lining up a potential return after the November international break. On a similar timeline, Frimpong could return in early December.
