The Baltimore Ravens ruled out four players for their Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, including star quarterback Lamar Jackson and newly-acquired center Cam Jurgens.
Head coach Jesse Minter said that the decision was made in Jackson’s “best interest.” The 29-year-old quarterback has not practiced for the last two weeks due to an ankle injury suffered against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. in Week 5.
Jurgens, who arrived in Baltimore via trade from the Eagles last week, could not clear concussion protocol in time to play on Sunday. Rookie offensive lineman Vega Ioane will stay at center for one more game with a major question mark at right guard, where both potential starters – Andrew Vorhees and Emery Jones Jr. – are listed as questionable. If neither can go, the Ravens could start Kyle Hergel, who signed in Baltimore after Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic were injured in Week 3.
Also missing Sunday’s game are veteran defensive tackle Broderick Washington, who missed practice on Thursday and Friday, and rookie tight end Matthew Hibner, who suffered a hand injury against the Falcons. Hibner left the game and returned in a blocking-only capacity; Minter said that he would miss “maybe a week” and should not land on injured reserve.
