Texas Longhorns women’s basketball has sold out its ticket allotment for the season, according to a recent Texas Athletics announcement. Notably, the sell-out is a first in program history.
Perhaps this is what four consecutive Final Four appearances equates to for head coach Vic Schaefer, who also led the Longhorns to a 2026 SEC Tournament Championship last season.
Texas enters the 2026-2027 season with a 44-game home win streak.
“What an incredible and historic moment for Texas Women’s Basketball,”
Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said in a news release. “Longhorn nation continues to show up and show out for this tremendous program, and we cannot thank our fans enough for their passion and unwavering support. What Coach Schaefer, his staff and our student athletes have built is truly special. They represent Texas with tremendous pride, compete for championships and have created an atmosphere at Moody Center that is second to none. We cannot wait to experience another unforgettable season together.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Longhorn Nation for believing in our program and supporting our young women in such a special way,” Schaefer said in the release. “Our fans have helped make the Moody Center one of the toughest places to play in the country, and selling out season tickets for the first time in program history speaks volumes about their passion and commitment. We take great pride in representing The University of Texas, and our team cannot wait to compete in front of a packed house every night this season”
