Jess Fishlock is one of the best footballers of all time. When the Seattle Reign needs her the most, she always delivers.
In the 90th minute of their match against Racing Louisville, she buried the game winner.
The Seattle Reign were winless in their last five and did not score a goal in their past two matches, but the legend and captain would not be denied.
The team is now tied at 30 points with three other clubs: NJ/NY Gotham FC, Portland
Thorns, and San Diego Wave. There are no points separating teams from third to sixth, just goal differential.
With the goal, Fishlock now has 47 goals and 30 assists in regular-season play and joined an elite list of players for sixth in the all-time NWSL list: Megan Rapinoe and Debinha.
Fishlock and Rapinoe now lead the Seattle Reign club record with a combined 77 goal contributions.
“That’s not bad company to be in, I’ll say that” said Fishlock.
For everything she has meant to the club, this is a well-deserved honor and an unforgettable moment.
