The Los Angeles Rams found their groove again on Monday night following a much-needed win over the New York Giants, seemingly restoring the fanbase’s faith in the team.
An overwhelming percentage of fans (90%) are confident that the Rams are heading in the right direction. This comes after more than two-thirds of the fanbase were not confident in the team’s direction a week ago after LA’s season-opening loss to the 49ers in Australia. What a difference a week makes, that’s for sure.
This certainly
paints an overly optimistic picture of the Rams, with a tough matchup looming against the Broncos on Sunday night.
Now, while it’s promising to see the fanbase confident in the team, is it more of a short-term feeling or a sign of things to come? Some fans are unsure, as they would rather wait to measure their confidence levels after the game in Denver this weekend.
The Australia game wasn’t a great measure of the team’s success because they were set up to fail from the start. That “travel experiment” cost them early ground in the NFC West and the conference. Plus, the Rams beating up on a Giants team that was without its starting quarterback for most of the game wasn’t overly impressive.
The New York win ultimately proved that LA beat who they needed to, which isn’t always awe-inspiring. Another fan echoed the sentiment and added that the next three games feature not only the Broncos, but the Eagles and Bills.
Los Angeles has plenty of work to do to win over more of the fanbase. These next few weeks against Super Bowl contenders will be the ultimate test for the Rams, one they must pass to increase the confidence level among fans even further.
