Class: RS Freshman
Hometown: Ashland, KY
Summary: Can we all gather in real close….closer…..closer….okay maybe back up a bit, I’m catching a whiff of something. Now that we’re all together, arms around each other, looking deep into each others’ eyes, let’s be honest. Not one of us thought Braxton Jennings was going to put up 100 yards against Kentucky last year, and few outside of Chris Barclay and his momma even dreamed he would break 75 yards on the ground.
But he did. And it was spectacular.
The “fourth(?)” string back from Ashland, KY stepped up in a time of need and filled in nicely alongside his counterpart Boykins, and the duo both dropped 100+ yards on the Cats in a game that ultimately closed the book on the Stoops era at Kentucky in a 41-0 beatdown. Even with Issac back in the bowl game Jennings got a few more reps and is looking to build on what he put together in 2025. The problem? Nearly the whole room is back, and we added another body. With Isaac getting pre-season love for many national awards, Keyjuan still doing Keyjuan things, and the addition of Marquise Davis (Mizzou) Jennings has his work cut out for him, but the new fresh number (32) and the fresh outlook on being able to perform at this level, it can do incredible things for a man. I think we see Jennings get some situational carries for sure, and if nothing else what a confidence boost for him, and for the staff, and us fans…that this kid is available that deep in the room if needed. Abundance of talent, and glad he decided to run it back..literally.
I shared this earlier, but its worth two minutes of your time.
