MMAmania.com confirmed with multiple sources today (Thurs., Sept. 24, 2026) that top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight prospect Jacobe Smith will be stepping up on nine days’ notice to take on Octagon newcomer Bruce Whitehead at UFC 332 on Sat., Oct. 3, 2026, inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Smith (12-0) has quickly become one of the most violent prospects in the UFC’s Welterweight division.
The undefeated contender steamrolled Josiah Harrell at UFC
Houston to earn a Performance of the Night bonus (watch highlights) earlier this year. Before that, Smith submitted Niko Price (watch highlights) and obliterated Preston Parsons in just 73 seconds.
The 30-year-old former NCAA wrestler was booked against Kevin Holland at UFC Oklahoma City in July, but Holland pulled out of the fight.
So far, Smith looks like the exact type of aggressive pressure fighter the UFC loves building around.
Whitehead (8-2) will be stepping into the Octagon just 13 days after knocking out Ali Abouzalam in the main event of Fury FC 124.

“The Goose” is riding a two-fight winning streak since getting stopped by current UFC fighter Victor Valenzuela in 2025. The 29-year-old holds a 63 percent finish rate, with three submissions and two knockouts.
