One of the most interesting and fun things to watch this season is going to be to see just how far along Cayden Boozer is.
We’ve mentioned this before but as great as Jon Scheyer’s recruiting has been, he hasn’t really landed an elite point guard yet. Could Boozer be that? It’s possible.
Cameron has always gotten the most attention between the Boozer twins, but Cayden is a highly promising player as well. Obviously he’ll know Cameron’s game better than anyone else will, but he’s extremely smart and
capable.
We haven’t seen him enough to be clear on this, but the question in both articles linked below center around his shooting.
For Duke, this probably isn’t a huge issue: Isaiah Evans, Darren Harris, Caleb Foster, Nik Khamenia and brother Cameron can take care of the three point shooting.
The other thing that’s come up a lot this summer is the battle between Boozer and Foster to start at point guard, to which we say: who cares? Duke has depth at point, which is great, and they can push each other. As long as they both help the team, it doesn’t much matter who gets the most minutes.
