14 weeks of the NFL season have passed, and some former Scarlet Knights have had major impacts for their team in recent weeks. Kyle Monangai has proved himself to be a steady, every-down back, while Bo
Melton’s breakout performance helped lift Green Bay to victory in their recent matchup against Monangai’s Bears.
RB Kyle Monangai
The seventh-round draft pick has scored a touchdown in four out of his last five games for the Bears. Other than one rough outing against Minnesota, Monangai has averaged four yards or more per carry in every game since his breakout start versus the Bengals. In the Bears’ victory over Philadelphia, Monangai carried the ball 22 times for 130 yards and one touchdown, as Chicago earned a statement win over last year’s Super Bowl champs. So far this season, Monangai has 135 carries for 648 yards and five touchdowns. He has also hauled in 11 passes for 97 yards.
Bo Melton
Melton has done it all for Green Bay this year and has become sort of a Swiss army knife for them, spending time on defense at cornerback, helping to cover kicks on special teams, running the ball on offense, and, most recently, catching touchdown passes. In their last game against the Bears, Melton hauled in a 45 yard reception for a touchdown. That brings him up to 3 catches for 73 yards and one touchdown for the season. On offense, he also has four rushed for 35 yards this season. On defense, he has three total tackles. He also returned two kicks for 37 yards against the Giants.
RB Isiah Pacheco
After missing a lot of time due to injury, Pacheco has started to work his way back on the field for the Chiefs, albeit in a limited fashion. In his last two games against the Cowboys and Charges, he has carried the rock 12 times for 46 yards, good for 4.3 yards per carry. The most he has in terms of yardage this year is 12 carries for 58 yards in Kansas City’s win over Washington.
DT Sebastian Joseph Day
Joseph-Day has recorded four tackles in the last two games for the Titans, three in their loss to Jacksonville, and one tackle in their win over Cleveland.
S Christian Izien
Izien saw a lot of action in the Buccaneers loss to the New Orleans Saints. He recorded 8 total tackles, five solo and three assists. That brings his season total up to 13 total tackles and nine solo tackles.
CB Christian Braswell
After recording little to no stats to start the year on special teams, Braswell has seen his production jump up over the last few weeks. In the Jaguars last game against the Colts, he recorded one tackle. Over the last four games, Braswell has made 11 total tackles, 8 solo and three assists. Those same stats are his totals for the year. despite him appearing in every game up until that point as a special teams player.
CB Max Melton
Missed the last few games due to injury, is expected to return this season.
LS Andrew DePaola
Played, but did not record a stat.
Long term injury reserve- CB Robert Longerbeam, FB Michael Burton, DT Kyonte Hamilton, and CB Eric Rogers.
