New Barcelona signing Karim Adeyemi says he’s looking forward to playing alongside Lamine Yamal at the club next season.
Adeyemi has completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund and was asked about the prospect of lining up with Yamal for his new team at his unveiling.
“I don’t know him personally, but his actions speak for themselves. He’s an incredible player. I can connect with him. I’m the player who comes running from behind, who takes advantage of his passes. I hope to connect very well with him,
but also with the rest of the team,” he explained.
The Germany star was also asked about Yamal’s Ballon d’Or prospects and expects to see the Barcelona teenager lifted the prestigious Golden Ball at some point.
“I don’t think Lamine would get angry if I said that nobody can ever be like Messi, but I think that every player has to find their own path, not compare themselves to others,” he added.
“Why shouldn’t Lamine be able to win the Ballon d’Or? Of course he can.”
Adeyemi can now begin training with his new team but will have to wait a little while until Yamal returns to action. Barca’s Spain contingent will take a well-deserved break and are not due to return until next month.
