UNH Preview
- The Wildcats are 11-10-0, with a 5-6-0 record in Hockey East play. While they’ve gone 1-3 in January, they were 3-0 in December and 4-4 in November.
- On offense, junior Nick Ring and senior Morgan Winters lead the Wildcats with 15 points each.
- In net, Union transfer Kyle Chauvette has started 20 games, and has a .905 save percentage. Senior Jared Whale has a .857 save percentage in 3 games played.
- The Wildcat power play is clicking at 14.5%, while their penalty kill is at 85.9%.
What to Watch For
- Limiting mistakes. The Eagles played a really great game against the Friars on Friday night – and were unlucky to lose in OT. That being said, most of the goals against on Friday – including the OT winner – were a direct result of a bad turnover right in front of the net, which simply cannot happen against any opponent, let alone good opponents like the Friars.
- Getting Back on track. The last time the Eagles had a truly bad weekend, they rebounded with 5 straight wins. After dropping one to Maine to end that win streak, the Eagles then went 4-1. This team has the ability to rebound after a tough weekend – and they’ll need to tap into it now as Hockey East play continues.
- Andre Gasseau is back! On a very positive note, Andre Gasseau is back in the lineup after not having played since the Denver game back in October – and he looks like he hasn’t even missed a beat, tallying three points over the past weekend against Providence.
