The Kansas City Chiefs will begin Phase 3 of offseason workouts with OTAs next week, and the team’s top wideout will not be available to join them.
On Tuesday, Matt Foster, sports reporter for KSHB41, shared Dallas County court documents ordering
Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice to serve 30 days in jail for violating his probation. Rice tested positive for THC, according to the documents. The police department said Rice was booked at the Dallas County jail around noon. He is set to be released on June 16.
These are the offseason events Rice is now set to be absent from:
OTA Offseason Workouts (voluntary): May 26-28, June 1-3
Mandatory Minicamp: June 9-11
Rice was sentenced to 30 days of jail and five years of probation last summer, after pleading guilty to third-degree felony charges for the multi-car collision he caused in Dallas in March of 2024.
That incident led to the NFL suspending Rice for the first six games of the 2025 season, citing a violation of the personal conduct policy.
According to NBC5 in Dallas-Forth Worth, Rice’s attorneys did not respond when reached out to for a statement.
