Let’s right to this week’s Olympic Sports round-up:
Volleyball (13-17, 5-15)
The Orange losing streak reached 11 straight to conclude the season as the team falls back to a tie with Boston College for 15th
in the final ACC standings.
Syracuse’s category leaders on the season were:
Gabby McLaughln- 418 kills
Skylar George- 30 service aces
Tehya Maeva- 1004 assists
Rana Yamada- 389 digs
Zharia Harris-Waddy- 91 blocks
Women’s Ice Hockey (8-11-3, 4-6-2)
That record is a little deceiving as while the Orange are 3-2-3 in this stretch, two of those ties were shootout wins behind the goaltending of Ava Drabyk. One of those shootout wins was over #5 Cornell in a game where Drabyk had 48 saves.
The Orange are now off until January 2nd when they will host Delaware.
Track and Field
Syracuse opened the 25-26 indoor season at the Greg Page Relays hosted by Cornell. Senior Elijah Millard opened the season with a new school record in the 300m dash with a time of 33.85, which was the top time in the meet. Another Orange win came in the 60m hurdles as Tawakal Omar took first in a time of 8.28.
For the women, Indie Wallace-Persaud won the 60m dash in 7.42. Peyton Rollins and Emeline Clark were the top two finishers in the 60m hurdles.
The Orange will be back at Cornell on January 10th for the Southern Tier Invitational.
