Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise took a little bit to break into Didier Deschamps’ star-studded France side. But safe to say he has fully arrived.
Olise scored a decisive second goal in France’s 2-0 win over Germany in the Nations League third place play-off back in June, and the early opener in his next appearance, a 2-0 win over Ukraine on Friday to open France’s account in Group D of the UEFA qualifying bracket. Olise is drawing rave reviews from his teammates.
“For me the most impressive thing about him is that he gives the impression everything he does is easy,” teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni said in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He has a certain nonchalance with the ball that when you watch him, you say: that’s too easy for him. Michael is a fantastic player, we see him every weekend at Bayern, and now he’s making a name for himself with the national team. Having him is an advantage for us.”
