- Draymond Green praises Spurs center Victor Wembanyama for highlighting defense in the MVP debate.
- NBA votes to explore expansion bids for Las Vegas and Seattle, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Gui Santos delivered a special performance in the Golden State Warriors’ 109–106 win over the Brooklyn Nets, finishing with a career-high 31 points in his return to the starting lineup.
Santos made the most of his opportunity, shooting 11-of-16 from the field and 4-of-6 from three while recording the first 30-point performance of his NBA career. He provided a consistent offensive spark throughout the night, earning him
praise from both head coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green.
The performance also carried historical significance. Santos became just the fourth Brazilian player in NBA history to score 30 points in a game — a milestone he said he takes great pride in representing.
For a Warriors team dealing with injuries across the roster, Santos’ emergence this season has been a bright spot and a reminder of what he can continue to provide in an expanded role.

What we learned as Gui Santos drops career-high 31 in Warriors’ win over Nets | NBC Sports Bay Area
With Moody out for the season because of his heartbreaking torn patellar tendon sustained at the end of the last game, Santos regained his spot in the starting five. To no surprise, he again took advantage of his opportunity. Santos was tied for the team lead in points after the first quarter (six) and at halftime (10) before being the first player on both teams to reach 20 points in the third quarter.
Draymond Green offers passionate answer to the Victor Wembanyama MVP question | The Athletic
“I hated it, and I absolutely loved it,” Green said to begin a nearly five-minute bit of commentary. “And the reason I hated it is because until Wemby said ‘Defense is 50 percent of the game,’ it was like, oh man, no one realized that. Like no one realized that 50 percent of the game we play is on that end of the floor. So he comes out and makes this profound ass statement and it’s like, ‘Oh, of course it is.’ And everybody’s like, ‘Oh man, he has a great point.’ Hello! You think?”

NBA’s Adam Silver says changes to draft system coming | ESPN
“I do think ultimately this is a decision that needs to be made at the ownership level,” Silver said following a two-day NBA board of governors meeting. “It has business implications, has basketball implications, has integrity implications for the league.
“So, it’s one that we take very seriously, and we are going to fix it. Full stop.”

Warriors Reacts Survey: Will the Warriors re-sign De’Anthony Melton?
His second pass through the Bay Area has gone much better. Melton re-joined the Warriors as a free agent this year and, after finishing up his rehab, hit the ground running. In 41 games with the Dubs, he’s averaged a career-high 13.0 points per game, along with 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals. He’s slid into a starting role with Steph Curry injured, and has played admirably.
He’ll be a free agent again this summer. The Warriors will certainly want to bring him back, but will he be a priority for them? And will he be in their price range?
