I’m writing this article on Labor Day because, after what I hope is an excellent afternoon and evening with friends and family with some of your favorite summertime food, tomorrow the NFL season really begins, as the Buffalo Bills will be well on their way to preparing for the Houston Texans this upcoming Sunday.
In my first year (back) in this role here at Rumblings, I want to be as all encompassing as possible with coverage, analysis, and insight this Bills season for you, the loyal reader. Of course,
our staff has plenty of already planned articles ready. But I feel it’s important to ask the readership directly what it wants to see on the site on a regular or intermittent basis.
Here are some general ideas to potentially spark suggestions (and these highlight some of my favorite topics):
- For a long time now, I’ve loved the world of analytics, not just as it has become a burgeoning cottage industry within the NFL. If done correctly without inundation, utilizing numbers can be used as straight-forward evidence for a variety of takes and explainers for specific stances on specific opinions. Whether it be tracking broad team narratives or granular player evaluations, there’s so many excellent, super-thorough databases available today. Therefore a countless number of ways exist that we can present number-driven pieces to you this season.
- Film reviews — Skarekrow has been the resident All-22 film analyst, and will continue to be. Yet more is possible. As a longtime NFL Draft devotee, these would be right in my wheelhouse.
- Column-y, opinion pieces — think old-school newspaper columns that present a take, then (hopefully) support it well before coming to a strong conclusion in the final few paragraphs
- Detailed lookaheads at the upcoming opponent. Team tendencies, player inclinations on the field, strengths, weaknesses… all that. Of course, there’s preview content on the docket here at Rumblings, but I want to gauge how big of an area of interest this will be each week.
Of course these aren’t the only areas in which we can (and will) write on a weekly basis. Rumblings won’t be just a news site, or analytics only. Or just film-centric. I want to provide it all. And the new SB Nation app will be a significant game-changer for your content consuming, navigation, and discussion here.
And hopefully before, during, or after your cookout today you can jump into the comments and give your thoughts to help us make Rumblings the best Bills site on the Internet for all interests for this 2026 Bills season.
