SEC Media Days are set for Tuesday and Wednesday in Birmingham, where both Kentucky basketball programs will take center stage on October 14 at the Grand Bohemian Hotel.
Head coaches Mark Pope and Kenny
Brooks will represent the Wildcats at SEC Tipoff ’26, joined by a mix of experienced leaders and rising stars from both rosters.
For the men’s team, Pope will be accompanied by guards Otega Oweh, Jaland Lowe, and Denzel Aberdeen as Kentucky prepares for its second season under his leadership. Oweh enters the event fresh off being named SEC Preseason Player of the Year, while Lowe earned a spot on the Preseason All-SEC Third Team. The Wildcats, picked to finish second in the conference, will take the podium Tuesday afternoon at 5:20 p.m. CT.
Kentucky aims to reach the Elite Eight for the first time since 2019 and make its first Final Four appearance since 2015. If Pope can guide the program that far in just his second season, it would mark a significant milestone in his early tenure.
On the women’s side, Brooks will make his second SEC Media Days appearance and will be joined by Teonni Key, Tonie Morgan, and Clara Strack at 4:20 p.m. CT. The Wildcats are looking to build on last season’s progress as they aim to advance past the Round of 32 and reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016.
SEC Network will provide live coverage of both days beginning at 10 a.m. CT, featuring interviews, analysis, and behind-the-scenes access from all 16 programs.
