Angel Reese played in her third-career WNBA playoff game on Sunday afternoon in State Farm Arena.
She also earned her third-career WNBA playoff win.
While Jordin Canada and DeWanna Bonner were the headliners for the victorious Atlanta Dream in their Game 1 WNBA semifinal win over the New York Liberty, Reese was as essential as ever for Atlanta.
Following her
pregame Defensive Player of the Year presser, Angel demonstrated why the DPOY trophy belongs to her, with her seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks contributing to an overwhelming defensive effort by the Dream.
The play, plus the passion, helped propel Atlanta to a 3-0 mark in the 2026 WNBA postseason—the only team still undefeated.
Christina Merrion, Swish Appeal’s contributing photographer, was in State Farm Arena for all the Game 1 excitement generated by Angel and the rest of the Dream. Here’s what she captured.
