Real1, better known as Enzo Amore during his run in WWE, posted a video on his X (Twitter) account on Tuesday in which he cut a promo about an upcoming appearance at ECW Arena.
His rant was delivered while holding two WWE 205 Live Championship belts, but that wasn’t the only reference to his 2010s run in the promotion. He called himself Enzo Amore in the clip, though he (likely for legal reasons) hasn’t used that name since taking to the independent circuit, as well as dropped his WWE-era catchphrase
of being a “certified G and a bona fide stud” before criticizing WWE manager Paul Heyman.
The former Enzo hit the height of his popularity in WWE while teaming with Big Cass (now Big Bill), but his time in the company came to an abrupt end due to a police investigation into sexual assault allegations against him. Ultimately, no charges were filed, but he was released from WWE reportedly because he hadn’t informed officials about the allegations. True to his loudmouth persona, Amore was also said to have had backstage heat in the company.
After Amore was let go by WWE in early 2018, he began pursuing a rap music career as Real1, though he did make headlines for a final time at a WWE event in November of that same year when he crashed the Survivor Series. He caused a brief disruption before security hauled him out.
Since then, the New Jersey native has returned to wrestling in the indies. Some of his more high-profile appearances include wrestling at events for Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Major League Wrestling.
The video he posted on Tuesday is to promote an appearance for 4th Rope in March at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena, which is still unofficially referred to as ECW Arena due to it being the home base for the company’s heyday under ECW owner and creative leader Paul Heyman.
Amore made note of the arena’s ties to ECW history while running down Heyman and Philadelphia, as well as making a reference to a conspiracy theory about Jeffrey Epstein.
“Everybody knows you put the two-time, too-fly on TV, you give me a mic and I’m gonna say, ‘My name is Enzo Amore, and I am a certified G and a bonafide stud.’ And Epstein didn’t kill himself. Too real. Can’t see me [said while waving hand in front of face like John Cena]. Diabetics. That’s why your vision sucks, Paul,” Real1 said. “Yeah, just like ECW, your brainchild you dropped off at Planned Parenthood in Filthadelphia. You know, [Hustler magazine publisher] Larry Flynt did his business. You exploited every fat, fetish-having Filthadelphia fan dumb enough to incriminate themselves in a furniture outlet watching a snuff film.”
He continued: “Bro, ECW ain’t nothing but the VHS tape kids wasn’t supposed to have—the Girls Gone Wild of pro wrestling. And on March 21st, 4th Rope will be at the ECW Arena doing something you never did called sports entertainment.”
Amore continued bashing ECW, saying he “wouldn’t call it wrestling.”
“If you got in a ring in ECW or anywhere near it, none of your titles count, none of your championships count. No, you deserve a plaque,” he said.
“So, Paul, if you need some, all you gotta do is scream: ‘Get the tables,’ and look in the mouths of all the fat Filthadelphia filthy fans. Don’t worry, they’ll be open.”
The clip ends with Amore doing a winded, mocking version of the “E-C-W” chant.
What do you think about fka Enzo Amore’s promo? Does he manage enough heel heat to generate interest in the March event? Would you rather he disappear forever? Sound off in the comments to let us know.
