The Chicago Bears’ preseason slate is over, so what did you take away from the three games? What have you gleaned overall from the offseason? Are you just as excited for the Ben Johnson era as you were in January?
The Bears had a fun comeback on Friday night against the Kansas City Chiefs to roll their preseason record to (2-0-1), but the most important part of the game was that the Bears made it out without any significant injuries. Chicago lost corner Terell Smith a week ago, and while he wasn’t
in line to start, he was considered a lock for depth at a position the Bears have been without Pro Bowl Jaylon Johnson. Relatively speaking, the Bears have a healthy team as they now look to prep for the Minnesota Vikings in week one.
On our latest Bear & Balanced, we’ll get into the Chiefs game, but also share some overall thoughts on the preseason as we set the table for the regular season.
Check out JB and me on our latest Bear & Balanced right here. (Tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, but we may hit the go-live button early!)

- Trench Tribute: This is our weekly pick for lineman of the game.
- Caught up in a numbers game: This segment features one number or statistic from the game that we found interesting.
- Sweet Tweets: We’re both active on social media — so be sure you’re all following us at @gridironborn & @wiltfongjr — and we highlight one Twitter interaction/Tweet each week.
- The Caleb Corner: We usually talk about quarterback Caleb Williams before we take our commercial break, but with no Caleb this week, we’ll probably take this in a different direction.
- The 3 Bears: You all know the story of the Three Bears, don’t you? In this porridge-themed portion of the show, we give our picks for the Bear that was hot, the Bear that was cold, and the Bear that was just right in the game against the Chiefs.
