The Golden State Warriors did not get the draft lottery magic that they were hoping for. At Sunday’s announcement, the Warriors were unable to beat the odds and move to the top of the pecking order. As announced by deputy commissioner Mark Tatum, the Warriors stayed put, and were given the 11th overall pick in June’s NBA Draft.
The Warriors, who were represented by assistant general manager Larry Harris, had a 77.6% chance of picking 11th overall, so this was the expected result. It was a 9.4% chance that
the Dubs would move into the top four, and a 2.0% chance that they would land the No. 1 overall pick. It wasn’t all bad, however, as there was a 13.0% chance that Golden State moved back in the lottery, so they avoided that negative outcome.
Instead, the Warriors will stay in their place, and take a player with the No. 11 pick. And if you want reasons to feel optimistic, well … it’s the first time the Warriors have held the No. 11 pick since 2011, when they drafted Klay Thompson. Needless to say, a repeat of that outcome would be very welcome!
With the Warriors knowing where they’ll pick — and also knowing who their head coach will be — they can now shift to scouting for the draft, which takes place on June 23-24 in Brooklyn. Golden State will also certainly field trade offers for the pick, as they seek to land a star over the offseason.
The Washington Wizards, who were tied with the Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets with the best odds at 14.0%, landed the top overall pick, and will presumably choose between AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer.
Here’s the full list of the 2026 lottery:

So with that figured out … who do you want to see the Warriors draft at No. 11?
