Game Summary:
The first half was close, until it wasn’t. With about 4 minutes (29-32) before the half, NC State went cold and SMU heated up and went on a 10-5 run to close the half leading 42-34. Stats were similar, SMU shot 43% /50% / 50% for the half, the Wolfpack 39% / 33% / 67%. SMU led the rebounding by 4, all offensive rebounds.
The second half was a nail biter. Out of the half NC State went on a 27-18 run to take the lead at the 10:51 mark. The Wolfpack then stretched the lead to 12 (76-64)
with 6:50 left, and then cooled off. SMU hit a 3PT shot at the minute mark to make it 84-81. Pierre Jr got a layup with 22 seconds left to make it 84-83. SMU gave the ball to Boopie (of course) for the final shot, and Tre Holloman blocked it. Very important win!

- 59% of the Wolfpack’s shot attempts (36 of 61) were from 3PT
- This was an offensive game, both teams shot very well. SMU hit 4 more shots on 6 extra attempts, but NC State countered by hitting 4 more 3PT shots and 5 more free throws than SMU.
- SMU won rebounding by four at the firsts half, but only by 1 in the second. NC State was even on offensive rebounds in the second half.

Individual Highlights
- Quadir Copeland with one of the great point guard performances in a Wolfpack uniform. A career high 16 assists. He led the team in rebounding with 10 and had 7 points and 1 steal.
- Darrion Williams led the scoring with 25. His 11 first half points kept the Pack close.
- Matt Able had one of his best games with 13 points and led the team with 2 steals. After going 0-4 from 3PT in the first half, he was 2-2 in the second.
- Tre Holloman had one of his best ACC games. 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and with one second left in the game, he blocked the potential game winning shot
- Scottie is back! – 1 steal, 1 foul, all in 1 minute.
